VOICE supports bloggers by providing them information on key development issues, amplifying their content and giving them access to policymakers and world leaders. VOICE is launching a new long-read monthly retrospective of best-in-class content by bloggers called VOICE/monthly. You will work with VOICE to develop a mobile and tablet friendly monthly magazine platform for this project. In addition, you will coordinate with partner NGOs to create the app as an opensource product. The original app will be used forVOICE/monthly, but the app engine can be used as  template to turn any blog into an iPad, iPhone and Android App. You will also develop some common interactive and sharing features unique to cause campaigns.
Your Mission:

• Work with VOICE and partner NGO to create app spec
• Develop app in compliance with iOS and Android specifications
• Manage online code repository and documentation
• Create integration with Wordpress sites, Tumblr and RSS
• Develop wireframes and basic UX

Your Skills:

• Ability to develop mobile and tablet apps
• PHP and MySQL
• Familiarity and ability to learn to work with Tumblr API
• Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex technology and provide step-by-step setup instructions
• Good at working with teams and managing feedback
• Basic understanding of mobile and tablet UX and design
• Fluency in English
• Candidates should be studying Computer Science, User-interface, Graphic Design, Engineering, etc.

Applicants can work in office space in London, New York or remotely.
-This fellowship can be split between a developer and designer, however the stipend must also be split.
- There is a strong chance that this fellowship will lead to ongoing consulting and paid development beyond the initial two month term.
